  • “Matzo balls” #tragicallyjewish🙃😅
I use kinetic sand as part of the Seder tablescape and apparently the association stuck! These kinetic sand matzo balls were impressively uniform- and I didn’t even mind that they snagged bowls from the kitchen as part of their play! #montessorimama #sensoryplay #matzoballs #fortheloveofjewishbabies #kineticsand
  • 3 meets roasted marshmallows: a love story 💕🔥
They are undoubtedly my favorite confection and I’m not sure when I’ll share that air fryer toasted mallows are a thing because she and I could make a bad habit together 😂

  • PSA: 🎓Check in the newly single parents attending IRL school events for the first time since before….
Libby’s school’s graduation was sweet but also strange- the ex has custody of the kiddos on Thursdays so I drove to meet my kids and said goodbye and went home alone…and while it feels much, much better than it felt to go home to the marriage that I left- it still stings to say goodbye instead of goodnight- especially during a time of celebration or a milestone (which - to be fair- is most of the time, in my book)😍
She was adorable- and she cried and froze and left the ‘stage’.
Her oldest sister was also adorable- and she also cried and got very upset with me. Each of us is growing up, day by day.
Parenting is hard and I still love it.
I’m so grateful for the women there who were there who are part of my squad for checking in with me, offering to stand by me, inviting my to join their family celebrations, and literally high 5ing me because she knew I was actively working to stay present, kind, grounded and grateful in a scenario that would have historically involved significantly higher levels of anxiety and insecurity. #graduation #newmeloading #growingupwhileraisinghumans #earlylearning #developmentalmilestones #singlemom
  • Discovered some inspirational play residue from 6’s apparent song writing session. She had to climb the piano bench to get that drum- so trhis kid was on a mission! I tidied around it- I want my kids to know that I (at least sometimes) recognize the value they see in their materials and output. I really want to know what inspired her to write a song of this nature!!! #musiceducation #thisissix #rockstarintraining🎸 #phoneticplay #earlylearning #morethancute
  • Big love to the lady @wellingtonfl_chick who hooked me up with an extra cookie because she totally knew that munchkin lay claim to the small sugar cookie that came with the combo meal that we ordered to share! Kids get free cookies all the time…let’s normalize free cookies for all 😜🍪!
I pick up this little girl 3 hours before her sisters and I try to take her out for lunch one day a week as a special treat for each of us. She giggles with delight and power when she chooses our table and is particularly fond of their ‘soft’ ice. She calls my @dietcoke ‘coffee’ and it is her version of a hilarious joke. I laugh every time she makes it because I find her delight charming and hilarious.
We talk about the stories shared at school, the work she did with her teachers, and I try to follow her toddlerian logic as the topics dart from squirrels to ice cream to death then back to butterflies…
I love the way she clings to my hand on the short trek from the car seat to the door. She tries to open the door every time- but it is far too big for her frame to maneuver…but she keeps trying and I‘ll keep cheering her on because the audacious confidence of tiny children delights me. I’ve noticed the smiles her presence brings to the faces around us, and I revel in the joy she sparks.
I hope she is always excited to share a sandwich with me. I know I’m in a developmental sweet spot for her affection…so I’ll treasure it now (and perhaps remember these moments to get me through the impending developmental stages that typically involve less copious cuddles and public affection).
I hope you enjoy your lunch dates, whomever they are!! #growingupwhileraisinghumans #earlylearning #thisisthree #singlemomlife #chickensaladchick #lunchdate❤️
