Earlier this week, my family had a meaningful conversation about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy and the importance of passing values across generations, which can be done through song. When I asked my five-year-old Libby which song she’d want to pass down, to her children and their children; she immediately selected Let There Be Love by Noah Aronson @noaharonson

Her answer gave me chills. This song was literally the first one she ever heard, I sang it to her softly in the hospital room on her first evening. I haven’t sung it to her in years, but it’s so clearly woven into her heart. That’s the beauty of music—it stays with us, lighting our way forward.

Libby’s performance of this song is a great source of joy and hope for me, and today my feed needed more of that—maybe yours does too. Watch it all the way to the end; her finale is just fabulous and perfectly 5!

This week, as my family prepared to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I shared a remarkable picture book with my children: Sing a Song by Kelly Starling Lyons. This beautiful story shares the history of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and its journey as a powerful anthem passed down across generations. I was deeply moved by its poignant storytelling and the relatable way it illustrated the enduring legacy of music as a connector of people and time.

Inspired by the book, I asked my five-year-old if there was a song she would want to pass down to her children and their children. She didn’t hesitate for a moment before answering: Let There Be Love by my friend @noaharonson Then she sang it to me:
